TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS
COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS
Counselors & therapists can diagnose and treat mental health conditions. They often specialize in treating certain conditions and/or in certain modalities of therapy (different types of therapy may include DBT, CBT, talk therapy, etc). This includes LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LPC (licensed professional counselor), among others.
PSYCHIATRISTS
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication.
PSYCHOLOGISTS
Psychologists specialize in diagnosing developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and mental health conditions. Some psychologists also provide ongoing treatment. Some psychologists offer psychological and/or neuropsychological testing.

I bill directly for Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, MODA and EBMS. Otherwise, clients pay by cash, check or credit card at the time of service. I am happy to provide an invoice (super-bill) for clients to submit to their insurance company.
