TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS
COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS
Counselors & therapists can diagnose and treat mental health conditions. They often specialize in treating certain conditions and/or in certain modalities of therapy (different types of therapy may include DBT, CBT, talk therapy, etc). This includes LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LPC (licensed professional counselor), among others.
PSYCHIATRISTS
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication.
PSYCHOLOGISTS
Psychologists specialize in diagnosing developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and mental health conditions. Some psychologists also provide ongoing treatment. Some psychologists offer psychological and/or neuropsychological testing.

My practice has an attachment/developmental/humanistic foundation and incorporates neuroscience, cognitive, play, sand tray, expressive arts, EMDR, and body somatic interventions.
MATERNAL: Providing sensitive care for individuals experiencing perinatal bereavement and/or difficulties with mood and anxiety related to transitioning to parenthood.
INFANT: Supporting healthy bonding and attachment in parent-child relationships through parent-infant sessions or in a group format. I am a Certified FirstPlay Practitioner.
CHILD: From ages 3 to12, I utilize Child-Centered, Theraplay and prescribed play-based interventions. I am a Registered Play Therapist.
ADOLESCENT: My approach is individually tailored to support goals, using a combination of cognitive, EMDR and experiential interventions.

WLC is In- Network with Aetna and Premera Blue Cross and bill them directly. Payments for sessions are rendered at time of service, by credit card. As applicable, for Out of Network insurance, I can provide a superbill for clients to submit to their insurance company.

We are preferred providers with Blue Cross and bill them directly. For all other insurances, we are pleased to provide detailed receipts for the purpose of reimbursement. Timely submission of receipts and claims will generally provide reimbursement to the client. Blue Cross may be a temporary exception to this due to the fact that AK doesn't license Associate Counselors; please inquire for more information. The usual payment method is by credit card.
