TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS
COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS
Counselors & therapists can diagnose and treat mental health conditions. They often specialize in treating certain conditions and/or in certain modalities of therapy (different types of therapy may include DBT, CBT, talk therapy, etc). This includes LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LPC (licensed professional counselor), among others.
PSYCHIATRISTS
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication.
PSYCHOLOGISTS
Psychologists specialize in diagnosing developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and mental health conditions. Some psychologists also provide ongoing treatment. Some psychologists offer psychological and/or neuropsychological testing.

With children and teens, I have experience and training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, Play Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Psychoeducation (related to emotions, trauma, coping skills, etc.), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Attachment-Based work. With adults, I utilize a trauma-informed and strength-based approach to therapy while also integrating evidenced based methods like CBT, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT Skills, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Internal Family Systems-Informed Work, and Psychoeducation (related to mental health, emotions, trauma, coping skills, etc.).

My practice has an attachment/developmental/humanistic foundation and incorporates neuroscience, cognitive, play, sand tray, expressive arts, EMDR, and body somatic interventions.
MATERNAL: Providing sensitive care for individuals experiencing perinatal bereavement and/or difficulties with mood and anxiety related to transitioning to parenthood.
INFANT: Supporting healthy bonding and attachment in parent-child relationships through parent-infant sessions or in a group format. I am a Certified FirstPlay Practitioner.
ADOLESCENT: My approach is individually tailored to support goals, using a combination of cognitive, EMDR and experiential interventions.
Do you accept insurance?
WLC is In- Network with Aetna and Premera Blue Cross and bill them directly. Payments for sessions are rendered at time of service, by credit card. As applicable, for Out of Network insurance, I can provide a superbill for clients to submit to their insurance company.

With couples, my main technique is Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, though I also pull from other modalities including PACT (the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and the work of Marion Solomon. I am also trained in Coherence Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Somatic Experiencing and other somatic and experiential approaches to trauma-resolution and embodiment; attachment-based approaches; Gestalt-informed approaches; Cognitive Processing Therapy; CAMS-Care. I am becoming increasingly familiar with Internal Family Systems.

I do not bill insurance directly, but I am pleased to provide detailed receipts for the purpose of reimbursement. Timely submission of receipts and claims will generally provide reimbursement to the client.
