TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS
COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS
Counselors & therapists can diagnose and treat mental health conditions. They often specialize in treating certain conditions and/or in certain modalities of therapy (different types of therapy may include DBT, CBT, talk therapy, etc). This includes LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LPC (licensed professional counselor), among others.
PSYCHIATRISTS
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication.
PSYCHOLOGISTS
Psychologists specialize in diagnosing developmental, cognitive, behavioral, and mental health conditions. Some psychologists also provide ongoing treatment. Some psychologists offer psychological and/or neuropsychological testing.

I take a person-centered, holistic approach with each of my clients, recognizing that everyone’s healing process is unique. I often integrate mindful self-compassion practices to encourage curiosity and self-kindness, along with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies to build emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. I also use Motivational Interviewing techniques to help clients identify and move toward their personal goals. Psychoeducation is an important part of my work, helping clients better understand their experiences and develop practical tools for growth. I am getting trained in Brainspotting Spring 2026.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, but most insurance plans cover out-of-network therapy by LPCs. I bill clients at the time of service and then I also submit their claim to their insurance on their behalf, a process known as courtesy billing.
